About Us

What is the Westover Civic Association?

The Westover Civic Association is a collection of neighborhood residents that meet throughout the year planning activities and services for its members in the Village of Westover. The Association has a president, vice-president, treasurer and secretary. The board also includes 22 zone directors who each represent approximately 20 houses in the development. The members of the Board are listed in every issue of the newsletter.

The primary purposes of the Association are:
  • to increase communication among neighbors;
  • to promote interest and pride in the Village of Westover;
  • to gather and distribute information that concerns the Neighborhood and its residents;
  • to advocate on behalf of neighborhood integrity; and
  • to improve the livability of the Village of Westover.
The Westover Civic Association is not for profit and its purpose is only to meet the goals listed above.

Why should I support the Westover Civic Association?

Some of the services the Civic Association provides are mowing and maintenance of the Common areas. The Association pursues grants to enhance the beauty of the development. In April of 2006 we were awarded grants from Hampden Township to improve McCord Commons. The board publishes a neighborhood directory and quarterly newsletter. The Association pays to maintain the street signs and holiday decorations, posts Kids Alive Drive 25 signs, and partners with Hampden Police department to guard against speeders. This summer the Board organized the Summer in the Park concert series which was supported by donations from local businesses.
