There are many opportunities to get involved with the events hosted by the Westover Civic Association. Here's a sampling of some upcoming events.
All of the special events held in Westover are supported by your annual dues payment. Our goal is to provide activites for residents of all ages.

2026 Events
Fall Yard Sale
Friday, October 2nd, 8:00 am-2:00 pm
Saturday, October 3rd, 8:00 am-2:00 pm
Chili Cookoff & Pumpkin Carving
Sunday, October 25th, 2:00-4:00 pm
McCord Commons
PUMPKIN CARVING: Bring your own pumpkin (BYOP). We'll have tables set up, trash cans, and festive fun together! No sign up required for carving. Parents or grown ups must supervise participating children.
CHILI COOK OFF: There are few ways to participate! Cooks can sign up to bring a chili to compete, or you can sign up to taste the entries and help select the winner! Last year's competition was heated, and some chefs are still chasing that coveted Westover title.
Bringing the Heat to Compete:
Sign up by October 20th! Bring your chili in a crockpot or with sterno burners and your own serving spoon. You can give your recipe a clever name and decorate your serving area if you like (optional).
Tasters:
Sign up with the number of people who will be attending to taste the chili and complete your ballots to vote for the best!
Cost to participate in tasting: $2 per person
Cost for a bowl of chili: $2
CASH ONLY
WHAT TO BRING:
Cash, chairs, beverages, pumpkins (if you are carving)
WHAT TO WEAR:
Family friendly costumes for all ages are welcome! Or come dressed for the fall weather. This is an outdoor event. Westover Civic Association is not responsible for costumes that get leaves, pumpkin pulp, or other evidence of outdoor fall fun on them, so plan accordingly!
We also need tables, setup/teardown volunteers, and a few other items. We're excited for the event and hope to see you there!
